Somehow this thread got unfollowed! Planted two 72 cell trays. One was all tomatoes, the other kale, chard, cabbage, brussel sprouts & herbs. Still have to do lettuce, maybe tomorrow?

The farmers almanac told me to plant mine last week. 😂 I wasn’t going to shovel snow off the raised bed to seed mine!

I seeded peppers, celery, & oregano today! Was going to do a few more herbs but realized I was out. Guess I’m stopping at the farm store tomorrow after work!

I bought 1/4 lb onion sets. They didn’t have the kind I wanted so I got a few of the others to make me feel productive. 😂. I’ll try next week to see if the other ones came in.

I’ll let you know what it looks like when I open the bag! When I pot up, I’ll use regular potting soil, but I’m hoping I like this seed starter!

My planting has officially started: Bought my first bag of seed mix! I wanted to plant a few days ago, but I haven’t been feeling great. Hopefully will get some of my herbs & peppers seeded this weekend!

My records show the earliest planting of carrots the second week of April. I put in a late planting last year the last week of June and got some nice sized winter carrots, too! I usually put 2 seeds per mini-cell. If they both look strong before getting 2 inches tall, I will separate into 2...

When I grow tomatoes I use a post hole digger for each plant, throw in a piece of banana peel, shrimp tails, eggshells, and coffee grounds. Top with one scoop of dirt then plant the tomato. Have never had to add fertilizer during the season when I do this.

One of my favorite things to grow! We have mid 30s all week. Hope it’s enough to melt. The girls are getting anxious to get out of the run! I do leave their door open to the garden when it snows sometimes, but they just look at the white stuff and stay in their covered tarped run. Glad we built...

Canceled date night w the hub tonight. We are supposed to get 8-12 inches into tomorrow afternoon. I am jealous of all of you starting your seedlings. Maybe in a week or two I can start a few seedlings.

We have the same weather. Windy until about 3pm, then temps dropping into single digits around midnight. But they should be up to double digits by mid morning on Sat. I was anticipating much worse. Don’t love the weather but very aware that we got lucky with this storm! Maybe I’ll start seeding...

I grow onions near my cabbage and it seems to work well! Onions are ready to pick as cabbage gets bigger.
