I remember a thread about this before and the consensus was to use sand that was coarse but washed, so there's not as much dust and it drains. I think horse arena sand fits that description. I'll see if I can find the thread.....

I've used pool sand and reptile sand in my brooder. The pool sand is heavier and it creates less dust whilst still going through my reptile scooper. And the poo and moisture clump even better.

A preferred choice is course sand. The concrete sand is what I use around in spots of my run. Better to avoid fine sand like Mason sand and Play sand. Those granite screening do look very interesting also. Check to see if they are dusty, or not. That would be my choice, but I never encountered any of such in my area.
