i was just curious how old the chicks are from feed stores when you first get them. I feel like I may be calculating the age of my girls wrong because I don’t actually know how old they were when I got them. I am thinking they are about four weeks old now.

Chicks arrived at the store at 24-48 hours old, sometimes a shade more. By the end of their first week, they usually have the first signs of adult feathers, if that helps you gauge how old yours were when you purchased them. This photo is my five-week-old chicks the day they turned five weeks old. It seems likely that yours are 3.5-4 weeks as they do still have some feathering to do.

Your chicks look about three and a half weeks, but may be four weeks. They look identical to the chicks I hatched out and they will be four weeks on the 26 if this month.
