Urgent! Possibly of what's wrong with our 5 week old chicks? Graphic pic poop

Out of our 9 easter egger chicks, two started acting weird yesterday. Thought they were cold outside so we turned on the CHE, it did drop here from the normal. We lost one this morning. The other is still hunched over. In almost a standing sleeping ball. Barely chirping and moving. We have...

    Corid mishap… maybe

First time chicken mom. Long story short… had 3 silkie chicks die all within a few days of each other over a week timeframe. Not any symptoms besides lethargy from them, but I was worried the flock maybe had coccidiosis. So I mixed the correct amount of corid with water and left it for them...

    Can't figure out what's happening

Looking for any ideas on what might be going on. We brought 4 new pullets into our flock. 2 cream legbar and 2 EE's. The EE's are older by a few weeks. I have now lost both legbar. Both seemed to have the same symptoms. Also a few from my older flock seem a bit off. There was red in the pullets...

    Cocidia?? HELP!!

I scoop the poop out of the coop every morning and noticed this one with blood tinged mucus in it. I have a younger flock on medicated feed and they will steal theirs sometimes. Should I treat with corid? Is it safe if they're eating medicated food? Do I need to toss their eggs while on the...

Can I eat my chicken eggs while using Corid?

Google says..... Amprolium (CORID) is approved for use in laying hens by the FDA, which means there is no egg withdrawal period when using it. Eggs laid by hens may be eaten during and after treatment with amprolium. What is the general opinion? I don't always trust the FDA.

Corid as preventative when moving to new coop?

I have four 8-week pullets I'm moving into a coop formerly occupied by a small flock of grown hens. I say formerly, because a fox* wiped them all out and these pullets are their replacements. I have no idea if my previous flock ever suffered from coccidiosis, but if they did, the bacteria would...

Corid: Is a maintenance dose necessary?

Back on August 6 I started giving our flock 1.5 tsp/gallon Corid. It's time to stop the full treatment dose, but is it recommended that I drop to a maintenance dose? Or is recommended that I give them a two week break and then retreat (like some parasites?) Thanks!

Someone said my chicken could have...

Coccidiosis in 6 week old chicks.

My chicks are now about 6 weeks old and I’ve been letting them free range during the day and bring them inside at night since we had a bit of a warm spell. What is the dosage of amprolium for preventing coccidiosis?

A month ago I hatched some chicks and when I spoke to a vet recently, he said it wouldn’t be a bad idea to give them amprolium. The feed I use is unmediated. I’ve used powder Corid in their water in the past, but I can’t remember the dosage to use. If anyone could tell me how much of the powder...
