    Automatic door and predators

Little background: I've automated my coop door and lights, to close and go off at sunset and open and go on at sunrise. I use half an hour offset, but I am in the city so little worries for predators. Fast forward: I am a regular at a farm close to the city, between the city and the woods. The...

    Automatic Coop Door?

Hi, I'm trying to decide on an automatic coop door. I was thinking of the Poultry Butler or Ador1 or the Pullet-shut chicken door company https://chickendoors.com/ . I love the wifi option on the Coop Tender but I read somewhere that it closes too fast and some chickens have died after...

11wk old Rhode Island Red babies

I've seen them once go into their coop on their own... Today I went to check their water, and found them with their mouths hanging open. Automatic coop door danger?

Last night I found one of my girls dead in the run. There were feathers everywhere around the walk up and the automatic door area. The door was open (should have been closed) . The read out on the door said it was jammed. Has anyone heard of the door killing a chicken? I can't find any other reason.
