I pickled some fish recently. Some sunfish fillets and some crappie ribs. Turned out good. I like pickled herring. I usually discard the ribs but thought I would give it a try. Vinegar dissolves the bones.

DW just reminded me that in late fall of 2005 we were staffing Health Clinics in post hurricane Mississippi. They switched from 'disaster' to 'recovery' mode and in rushed the bureaucrats to second guess everything we had done (we quit before the week was out.)
The FEMA manager asked DW "What are you going to do?" She said "I'm going to the camp. It's deer season."
