So unfortunately the smashed egg didn't survive

my gut was telling me to look again and I held it for a while and no peeps or movement whereas the other two peeped and moved right away. I opened it just to make sure and it did pass.

The other egg that pipped is doing good! The mother hen seems to like pecking at it and I don't know if that's a good thing.
