Has anyone used silvertech siding for their coop?

I am considering this for siding of the coop. Wondering if anyone had built a coop with the material? My concern is that the chickens may peck at the radiant barrier (inside) coating of the siding, which may not be healthy for the chickens. We live in north Texas where temps can exceed 100 degrees in the afternoon, so finding ways to keep the coop cool is the reason for considering this siding. Obviously ventilation is the key for the coop, I know, but having siding that doesn't reflect the heat into the coop may also be helpful. The siding is advertised to lower temps for storage sheds. Anyone have experience with this type of siding in their coop?

Do you have a link to the exact product?
If it's foam on the inside, and the birds can reach it, yes they will peck at it.

In TX, might be best not to have any walls, but one or two, just mesh and a very large roof.

its manufactured wood siding with a radiant barrier fused to the inside.

You get more benefit from painting the outside of the coop white.

But at least its designed for exterior applications, so it holds up better than most manufactured wood products.

and yes, an open air design is one of the best for TX

If you go with an Open Air design then insulation is irrelevant.

My coop is the coolest place in my yard despite being in the sun:

I don't have a coop page for it yet, but it's featured in my hot climate article: https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/hot-climate-chicken-housing-and-care.77263/

Your design rocks! Very nice open air design that provides fantastic ventilation. The illustrations of air flow in the provided link help visualize what is needed in a coop. Thanks for sharing your approaches to healthy chicken living!
