I have a Barnevelder that hatched in March. She's a lovely bird, but has a gigantic comb! I specifically selected birds with small combs for our Colorado winters, so was a bit surprised when hers got so big. Her feather coloring also doesn't look quite right and she also has sort of "white" on her ears. Do you all think she's just a hatchery quality barnevelder? Or is she something else? I don't have any chocolate eggs, but I'm not positive that she's laying.
Thank you.

My blue laced barnevelder’s comb is the same way…. And I love her… want to get more… that’s when I noticed her comb was t the same and her eggs are definitely not dark brown… they are light… which was a disappointment, but she is my most consistent layer, my largest eggs, and always happy.

I was also told it was hatchery quality…. I’m trying to find more and thru smaller hatcheries.
