A cluttered run

Mrs K, I like your chicken obstacle course. I will try this if I ever need to provide protection for some newer chickens.
Can you tell me what kind and sex of chicken is the one nearest the pallet on the 3rd pic down? (She?) looks like some I have that I am doubting that they are females, particularly with the red comb and face.

Your set-up is really clever (and probably works very well), but not everyone has that much space to be able to put an entire obstacle course in their run. I think space is the problem for a lot of us city folks with backyard chickens.

Just to note, you don't need as much stuff as shown in the photos. The birds still need open space to move about. In a smaller set up smaller obstacles are fine too - some overturned plant pots, wood ladders, unused patio furniture... the idea is to give birds a way to break line of sight if another is giving them the stink eye or chasing them.

Will contribute some of my 'run clutter'...set up here for when I had chicks last spring.
I have 2 separate runs, main run is L shape 8x50 and the other is 8x8.
