No, she wasn’t even a year yet. No signs of anything, one of the flock leaders, laid an egg yesterday morning. 😞 Thank you. ❤️

14 today. But my beautiful Barred Rock was dead under the coop…stiff as a board, no injuries apparent. Wonder if she had a heart attack…poor honey. 😞

New high of 15 today! Unfortunately one was on the ground in the coop and I stepped on it, and another was cracked in the nest box (but not oozing, so I threw it in a pan and cooked it up for the girls.) If I’m gonna have broken eggs, at least it was on a big number day!

11 today! Thinking of making a big quiche for breakfast on Sunday.

12 today from 20! Dont know if my special-needs legbar will ever lay, but that’s ok (she has been using 1 leg only since October…gets along great on the one, poor baby. Shes my girl.) A few of my 1 1/2 year olds who stopped for winter haven’t started back up again yet either.

Only 8 today. It warmed up and things started melting with all the rain, so I was surprised that they didn’t hit double digits.

11 from my girls today, but unfortunately I broke one in my pocket. First time I’ve done that. Cursed myself. I use an app too! It’s called Flockstar: It keeps track per hen and as a graph as well. You can enter a bulk amount at once, or one at a time with hen and egg weight. It is so handy!
