I actually used my fecal reading solution to look at these guys. They were very much alive and moving! I have a video of them moving their legs and their proboscis but haven't had a chance to upload it.
I'll have to see if I can get the video uploaded and maybe some more photos of what they...
My name is Abigail and I got started raising the wyandotte because of my love for animal husbandry. I have always had a passion for raising animals and, after moving to a small farm, I fell in love with livestock. It all started out with a few old hens from a farmers auction my dad had...

If you have owned poultry you have probably dealt with mites, lice, or other creepy crawlers. One of the cock birds at home turned up with northern mites (correct me if I'm wrong). They are very tiny little bugs, smaller than lice. They appear to be specs of dirt moving around on the bird. Most...

AMEN!!! I hate when people say that sexing is easy or just feather sex. Feather sexing is a trait that must be bred it doesn't just show up! Just like sex linked traits.
On pullet lines the wing tend to be more laced or completely laced in some cases. Most of the time it is kind of a "fuzzy" lacing like on the boy shown. Definitely a key indicator of pullet line.
