Me too! Even though we've had them a year, I'm still nervous about opening the hive. We need to do that today, to take out the Apivar strips (miticide), and put on queen excluders and honey supers. We now have two hives. We started with one, and it survived the winter. We had a very mild...

You missed a zero there. The correct answer is 20,000. Unless you don't pick them. Then it grows 10 zucchini that weigh 200 lbs each. :lau :lau Zoodles! I had them for the first time last Wednesday. LOVED them! Since I'm GF, it's a match made in heaven for me. So I'm growing zukes this year.

I've heard it's going to be a bad tick year. Where I live in Michigan, we didn't get a lot of snow, not nearly as much as usual. Someone said that where there isn't a lot of snow cover, the ticks can still lay eggs on the frozen ground, and they'll hatch. If there's snow, the eggs die.

This has always worked for me: Pinch your earlobe (either one) FIRMLY between your thumb and forefinger. Hold for one minute.

I love the smell of clothes dried on the line. Enough to do the hanging out and bringing in. Ok, I also love that it's free. And better for the environment than running the drier.

What do you want to know about raspberries? I haven't had good luck growing red ones. Other brambles, especially the wild black raspberries and wild blackberries grow really well here.

Hubby and I always leave a good tip. Wait staff work hard. When we go with friends, we try to go on off-peak times, because we sit and talk a while. Ok, an hour. So we leave a good tip as "table rent."

I wouldn't say that about me, but I am very much an introvert. I have a small circle of friends I like to hang out with, but then I need to be alone to "recharge." Being around big groups of people can make me feel physically tired and drained. Even after getting together with my friends, I feel...

I do most of my reading on my Kindle nowadays. It's great for while I'm on the elliptical, or lying in bed. I have found that any graphs or diagrams or illustrations totally SUCK on it, so any book with those features I buy in print. Any kind of reference book, I prefer in print. I want to be...
