We had already placed an order from Meyer Hatchery for 13 Assorted Layers and a Meal Maker. But before these guys came, we wanted to make sure we actually enjoyed chicks before it was too late to cancel the order.

Going to Tractor Supply, there was Golden Comet pullets, hearing these are good layers we bought them. (Much later though, I came to the conclusion that I am never raising this breed again), for many reasons that I will explain later.

We got four of them, and named them Egg Yolk, Marsala, Sleepy, and Digger. Everyone in the family named one! Although at present, I am in charge of naming the chickens!
