White Crest Blue or Black? Polish?

I bought a “polish” babes from my local feed store but having the hardest time figuring out if it’s a white crested black or white crested blue polish. Almost 100% it’s not a silver laced. But what do you think based on coloring?

It was with a bunch of white crested blacks but looked VERY different from all the others coloring wise. Even the feed store employees were unsure. I know it doesn’t have a defined crest like normal polish babes but based on the beak, I’m almost confident it is a polish but maybe doesn’t have a vaulted skull or maybe just a late bloomer?

I thought the same thing but the beak looks exactly the same as all the other polish in the same bin. I’m thinking maybe it just doesn’t have a vaulted skull? It was way tinier than the rest too so not sure if it was the “runt,” was born later, has some birth defect/recessive trait, is a late bloomer? Everything about this chick is a complete mystery!

Polish have crests, not vaulted skulls. This chick does appear to have something that looks like a slight crest.

Sometimes hatchery birds don't always look the way they should. I would assume it is a White-crested black Polish. Post updated pics in a few weeks. Let's see if that odd little poof gets bigger.

I’ll definitely have to keep everyone updated cause this chick is just such a mystery overall. We’ll find out in a couple weeks I guess lol.

But I was under the impression that the crests are a direct results of a vaulted skull? I’m fairly new to chickens in general so I’m by no means an expert. Just want to make sure I’m using the right terminology.

I was wrong, my apologies. I was thinking of the insanely vaulted skulls of some Silkies. Polish do indeed have vaulted skulls.

crests can be barely visible sometimes this young, and they come in later. This is the same chicken.
