What type of sand to use in my coop

I saw our post and was wondering if you think old sand from under an above ground pool would be ok. I'm guessing it's fine masonry sand. I tore don the pool and am converting it into a pen

We use fill sand in our run and coop. Made a poop scoop. Easy to clean kind of like a litter box. We have hardly any flys and lite spray down the sand with the hose

Would you describe your poop scooper or better yet post a photo of it? How deep is the sand in your coop?

We will be updating pics soon. My coop is posted under title. My semi green chicken coop. We will add pics of the chicks and the sand and poop scoop. The scoop is wire attached to a store bought scoop . The wire lets the sand through but not the poop.
