New Coop: Need flooring ideas

My husband is building a new coop and I was wondering what should be used as a flooring? Is it better to use a wire type screen with the small squares (sorry cant recall the name of that stuff) or should it be a wood floor?

Hardware cloth is welded wire and recommended for predator proofing. My tractor has a wood floor to be covered in pine bedding using the deep litter method. I have concerns about wire floors as they are supposed to let poo drop thru the wire, but often the waste can't get thru the wire.

(my mom was surprised to find out coops HAD floors!
