These are half Cemani and the black ones are half buff Orp. So the black gene was dominant in that cross, black skin too! The others are half barred rock, and they look like darker barred rocks but some have blackish combs, can’t wait to see what they look like. I’ve been taking care of chickens at the school I work at, there was an Ayam Cemani Roo that came in the barnyard Mix, he was gorgeous but probably the only Cemani for a thousand miles so no one to breed him with... well he flew to coop and got eaten by a fox so I decided to borrow an incubator and incubate his girlfriends eggs and this is what I got. Eight, three weeks old, the two day late hatchling is slow feathering I think, but he’s the only one w a hint of green sheen to his feathers, at only three weeks! He also the most freaked of people, three are black w one white wing feather and the other five are barred looking, my kids at pretty attached to all of them so I hope they’re all hens.. I’ve got bantam eggs in the bator and now pure barred rock and some half buff orps..

Sorry to bring bad news, but since the Ayam Cemani was the father, all barred chicks are males. (Just like with the more common types of Black Sexlinks: barred mother gives barred sons, not-barred father gives not-barred daughters.)

Solid black chicks may be female (Barred Rock mother), or could be either gender (Buff Orpington mother.)

What if the dad was svart hona?

If the mother had barring and the father did not, then all barred chicks are cockerels. (It's the method used to create black sexlinks, and it works because barring is on the Z sex chromosome: the mother passes her Z chromosome to her sons only, not to her daughters.)

So I have at least 5 Roos out of eight, ugh! Hey thanks for the knowledge
