Maryland Chicken Mama

Hi everyone.

We live in Maryland with our flock of 10 feathered babies and 2 furry babies.

We have a variety of breeds including Jersey Giants, Orpington, and Easter Egg.

We live on ½ an acre with a permanent walk in structure chicken coop and run. The coop used to be a shed. The enclosure is an 8 foot chain link fenced area with vinyl coated wire strung across the top every 2-4 inches and 18 inch digging barriers for the entire perimeter.

This works to keep the hawks and foxes out as much as possible. It also allows the leaves and branches to fall off the trees and not tear down a netting cover.

I’ve visited this site looking for advice and thought it would be great to join officially.
