We are new to raising chickens. We bought 2 meat birds that are ready to be processed, however we are having a hard time finding a place to process them. We live near the middle of the state, near Saginaw, and the closest place I can find is in Millington and he's charging $1.89 per pound to process. Now from reading on the forum here this sounds like a high price. Any suggestions or comments welcome. Thanks!

Wow, DON'T pay that price. Find some Amish- they'll do it for $2/bird. Just go to an amish farm- they'll either do it, or know another family that does.

Thanks for the input. I think we have decided to process the birds ourselves and save us the money and the drive that it would take us.
