Anywhere with chickens
My Coop
My Coop
I recently added 5 chicks to my flock. I have 8 hens and 1 rooster. I am looking for a medium coop design that will house 15-20 chickens. My jersey giant hen has trouble fitting in her nest box so they need to be a little bigger. I would like an easy to build coop because I am not that good at building things.

Not sure how easy it is, but the woods coop design is one of the most sensible I have seen for chicken housing. Also, 3KillerBs has a great page about her open air coop. I think you would be fine with an open air coop in Virginia as long as you have moderately cold hardy breeds. Here are some links.

I live in upper Virginia
Here's how to add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, and then it's always there!

I just realized you need an easy to build coop.

Hoop coops are economical and easy to build.

This is one of my favorite articles on them.
