I have a project pony that I bought 2 years ago. He was broke at one point walk-trot and then was left out in a pasture for a few years, so when I got him I essentially had to restart him from the very beginning. Now he's a successful show hunter and just completed his first season of competitions. This Fall season he is graduating to rated shows.

Anyway, here is my first draft for his sales ad, as well as a ton of pics:

SA Licorice
’05 Registered Half-Welsh Gelding (WPCSA papers)
Out of a pony mare and by Bur-Dal Lord Solomon
12.0hh

SA Licorice (Lic) is a rare gem among ponies. In terms of athleticism, behavior and looks, he has it all. Lic has a super sweet personality and is a very quick learner, making him a blessing to be around and to work with. A true black with lots of chrome; he is quite the flashy fellow - That combined with his big movement, will surely cause him to stand out in the show ring.

Lic w/t/c on the lunge and undersaddle. He has been shown extensively this summer in open hunters and pony hunter divisions and was quite the all-star! He is extremely scopey and has PERFECT form over fences. Lic has been competed up to 2'3 this season but schools higher. He even free jumps over 3' with room to go! He has his transitions and lead changes down and seems to float around the course - very well paced and consistent. He's very honest to fences and pins at every single show he's been to. He is just a quick learner in general and is always willing to go further.

He has also been ground driven (driving pony potential) and trail ridden. He is great around other horses, children, dogs, cows, crazy-loud birds (peacocks), machinery, etc – nothing phases him! NO spook!

He's wonderful for green riders, but truly shines for those who are more serious and advanced.

He ties and crossties – stands for the vet, farrier, for bathing, and clipping. Good to trailer and great manners/behavior on and off the farm. NO soundness or health issues. UTD on vaccinations and worming.

He is eligible to show Welsh breeds shows, although I haven't taken him to any yet. He also will be starting rated show circuit this Fall season, where he will also be officially re-carded.

Currently asking $___???____ Price will increase with training and show mileage.

(Obviously, I wouldn't post ALL of those pictures on his sales ad- just wanted to give BYC a better idea of him)

What price range do you think he is worth?

He looks FABULOUS. You have excellent pictures of him in action, under saddle, and showing conformation. Depending on where you live, or if you're willing to ship him, you could ask for anywhere up to $5000 for him. Don't lowball this one, I've seen over and over again that people WILL pay, even in this economy, top dollar for an equine that looks like it has real show value. Meanwhile people who post their horse at a "reasonable" price get overlooked, because people think "Oh there MUST be something wrong with it!" Crazy, but that's what I've seen.

Oh one last thing, if possible, post GOOD video of him in action, at liberty and being ridden. Only if it's really good though and edited correctly, bad video is far worse than no video, so use your judgement on it. Would YOU want to buy him based on the video, or does it leave you underwhelmed?

That is a beautiful pony. Great pictures. If you lived closer, I have a pony club family that would buy him in a minute. I would price him around $5000-$6000 depending on the market in your are.

He is very flashy and attractive. You could look at ponies with similar training and experience (say on Dreamhorse) to get a better idea of a price. I don't know ponies or hunters very well, but I imagine he could be priced $5,000.00 and up depending on his ability to pack around a tiny little kid safely through a jump course. Good luck.
