4 day old Pekin duckling. Does anyone know what this is??

Hi there, thanks for the response.
No its not draining liquid. I didnt hatch them. I purchased day olds from a hatchery. It has been drinking, eating, and pooping normally like the rest.
I'm feeding them Masterfeeds duck and goose starter crumble with nutritional yeast. So far little snacks have included kale, romaines, and chickeeed from my greenhouses. Their waterer is the 1 quart poly.

Yes it came like that as a day old. The photo posted with original post was at 3 days old.
Possible birth defect
Or burned it on some kind of heat they provided
I’m going to let others try to figure it out as well cause I’m not certain and don’t want to give you wrong advice

One of my ducks was hatched 4 years ago with a similar defect and he’s still thriving - just make sure they always have a deeper bowl for easier scooping with the mouth -
