Three Orps have hatched and two Delawares. A fourth Orp and third Delaware are well-pipped, but I'm still waiting on six Dels to pip.

Gah the two I have hatching aren't sizzles at all. Sigh. They're pullet eggs from that small columbian marked Del. They had better be girls and excellent or else! Grr.

Ah well, dels are cute babies and fun. I won't mind much. But the eggs really are small and the spuds are fair stuck. Keeping a close eye on em...

I bet they whisper inside the eggs to one another and say "Ok Delawares, here's the plan: just do what we do (or don't do

) so we can cause as much suspense as possible! They gotta love us no matter what

And once in the brooder, the Orps, usually very laid back, are acting like little gang members, right along with the Dels!

Another Delaware has pipped, but still waiting on five others to open that tiny window.
