At this time of year I recommend saving your money. There is a time and a place for everything, and September or October it is not the time to be setting hatching eggs that have been shipped on a public carrier and for that reason have a poor chance of hatching.

It is usual for ethical sellers of hatching eggs to include a few extra eggs to make up for the terrible hatching rate of shipped eggs. At this time of year and with the hens ending production at the end of an 8 months run, I my humble opinion if you pay $15 for 10 eggs the seller needs to ship 100 eggs just to be sure that you hatch out 8 chicks.

Your money is your money so spend it like you want but I have never enjoyed much success hatching shipped eggs at this time of year. Please repost and let us know how many live and healthy chicks you got out of your 10 eggs. NO FAIR PICKING OUR BRAINS WITHOUT RETURNING THE FAVOR BY HELPING OTHERS.
