Feed sack recycling ideas??

Just burn the bags, like you would for bags of corn/soybean seed.

I also used some for wrapping paper last Christmas. The family got a kick out of that.

You can actually pack them in pretty densely and compact them some if they are nice and dry... saves space

@Gray Farms - That's a great idea! I use old paper bags from the store to wrap, so using our paper bags sounds fun

We've had neighbors and family ask for several of our old feed sacks for lawn clippings, leaves, ect. They also come in handy for kneeling on the ground, and plugging holes. My bantam hen kept escaping from a small hole, and the feed sack was handy. It worked to plug the hole and keep her in.

I use them to line the bottom of my brooder. One Nutrena bag fits the dimensions of my brooder almost perfectly, though I wish I had made made it a foot longer. I like the nest box idea. You could line poop boards with them as well. We also use the bags to throw rocks in around the yard and garden because they are stout.

We did that also this Spring with a new brooder for the new chicks. They are also great for the laying boxes, easy to clean out, and for extra insulation in the winter.
