I'm going to start construction for an enclosure for my babies pretty darn soon. We have 500ft of 2 by 4 in welded utility wire 6 foot tall and plenty of treated posts plus 2 by 4s to put on the top of the fence to keep it sturdy. I would just like some advice on what you wish you would have done. Pictures of your setup would help to. Oh and should I include some brush or large trees(scared they'll fall and crush the fence)?

i built mine as the typical side by side breeder pens with the shelter at the end. i used 4 foot welded wire fence for the bottom then i used 4 foot woven wire fencing to the top. 4 x 100 then i got 4 x 350 foot fence. just to get the fence that nice 8 foot lol just so there is NO issues what so ever. my pens are 20 x 100 that is perfect for a breeding pair! i have two 20 by 100 pens of just welded wire over on the other side of our house aswell it is in a wooded part. there are pros and cons of both. if you have it in the open they need a shad shelter while in the wooded area it is nice and shady and cool. BUT ive had trees get knocked over on the fences and its a PAIN! so its all in what you want to do.

Wow very beautiful land you have and beautiful birds. Thanks so much for the input. Although we did end up building the pen. It's all 2x4in welded wire all around with 4x4 posts on the outside of the wire so they don't hit anything when they run around the perimeter. Here's some pics
