EMERGENCY - 2 Coturnix Quail foot broken OFF

Good morning everyone.
My pet quail (her name is Friend) is still eating normally and is not panting. She is also surprisingly walking/flapping around a lot on my lap.
I have took some pictures of her enclosure and her wound.
How bad does the wound look to you guys? You can see bone which is concerning ... I am going to drench her wound with Vetericyn then put there back in her enclosure. Thank you for your time.

She’s so cute! I hope she gets better!

Oh, it looks like there's a significant amount of leg left. It's possible that once she's fully healed up, you could consider a prosthetic for her.

I really don't like that there's exposed bone, but if she's healing well then I wouldn't complain. I'd recommend antibiotic ointment without pain medication and possibly bandaging it to avoid further damage/infection. Otherwise, I'd keep an eye on it as it might progress to dry gangrene (turns black and dry, is stable/might fall off by itself) or wet gangrene (pus-y, green, wet, bad-smelling; a very bad sign and would require a vet visit and/or antibiotics).

The exposed bone is concerning due to the risk of infection. I would use triple antibiotic ointment for now to medicate the exposed bone and tissue, since vetericyn is an excellent antimicrobial but not an antibiotic. It also wouldn't hurt to disinfect the wound with hibicens or betadine. If you can gain access to an antibiotic such as cephalexin or clindamycin to treat potential bone infection, that would greatly improve her prospects for recovery. Do you have dogs or cats? If so, you have nothing to lose by asking your vet if he/she will prescribe an antibiotic after a phone consultation and viewing the photos. If not, continue to treat the injury the best you can and hope for the best.

Hello everyone, sorry for the late update.
So far she seems to still be doing well.
Last night and today I soaked her wound in Epsom Salt water for 20 mins each time. I have also been multiple times a day swapping her paper towel litter with fresh paper towel and spraying her wound with vetericyn.
She was been very active and eating well.
Tomorrow I will post pictures of her.

I didn't realize how different Vetericyn and triple anti bacterial were.
I can get her some tomorrow.
Should I alternate between the both Vetericyn and triple anti bacterial?
Thank you all for the valuable information! I will keep you all posted.

I've used both at the same time when dealing with particularly severe open wounds. I coat the wound with triple antibiotic first, then spray Vetericyn on top of the antibiotic for good measure. Some may consider that overkill, but I've never had a wound become infected, so I will keep doing it.

Here is some info you may find helpful re your quail's exposed bone. Several years ago my flock guardian dog injured his foot and literally pulled a toe and paw pad completely off. The injury was clean except for the remaining exposed foot bone, so for 2+ weeks I medicated the wound with triple antibiotic and Vetericyn. The wound never got infected, but neither did any healing take place. I finally relented and took him to a vet, who prescribed the antibiotic cephalexin. The wound began to close almost immediately, and by 10 days was completely healed. I hope Friend's wound heals with no oral antibiotics needed, but if you can, try to figure out how you might access either cephalexin or clindamyacin just in case.

P.s. I soaked my dog's injured foot with exposed bone daily in Epsom Salts too. Which helped contribute to the wound not getting infected, but didn't help it heal. Maybe someone who has experience with an exposed bone injury healing without oral antibiotics will add their input.

Morning everyone. Sorry for the late update!!
Yesterday a F-ing Racoon ripped open a part of my chicken shed yesterday. Thankfully it was too busy stealing eggs to hurt my chickens, but left me hours of repair work.

Last night I soaked Friend's foot in Epsom Salt water for 10 mins.

She is walking around, eating, and pooping normally.

But today while inspecting her I noticed some of her leg has turned yellow and her knee is swollen. I am very concerned, does anyone know what this means?

I am about to put some Triple Anti Bacterial of her wound ...
Here are some pictures of her:
