Egg bound hen.... tried to remove with no succes..... she’s been soaked for 20 minutes but still no movement.....

Monitoring at the moment & ready to soak again but will reptile calcium powder be ok to give as I don’t have any human? Surely it’s the same?

This is the brand ~

I would think it’d be ok. Check the additives just in case. I buy reptile calcium for my turtles and snails.
Mix in a small amount of wet food.

How far in is the egg?

Thanks, I’ve given her some on grapes that were halved. I’m hoping I don’t have to drain but am prepared should I need to. I’m hoping another soak will help it along :fl

A lot of people set the hen on a moist towl on top of a heating pad set to LOW instead of repeated baths (less stressful.) Giving vitamin D3 with the calcium can be helpful. Egg yolk has plenty of D3. If you are desperate and have no calcium, taking a whole egg, shell and all, cooked or raw, and pulverizing it in a food processor or blender, will be the equivalent of a human calcium tablet with D3. Good luck on the egg.
