Hi! I’m in central Florida and the temperature is usually mid to high 80s in the day and in the 60s at night. My chickens are 4 and 5 weeks. Is it safe to move them from indoors to their outside coop?

Depends on how well feathered they are and how many you have to huddle up together. I'm in northern Pennsylvania, I keep my chicks in my basement, which is consistently 60f. My chicks are 4 weeks today, and I just unplugged the brooder plate. Chicks raised under brroder plates tend to feather out faster than chicks raised under a heat lamp. Also, if your chicks have been under a heat lamp up until now, you should harden them off for several days before throwing them into the cooler nights.

4 and 5 weeks. There are 6 of them.

My personal preference in this situation would be to either keep them in one more week to let the 4 week-olds feather out more, or put them all out in the coop, but with their brooder plate/heat lamp on at night for the next week.

I would 100% have them out, if it's 75 inside, off heat for a week, and 60-80 outside they should adjust without issue.
That’s what I was thinking but, being a first timer, I’m very unsure and tentative about transitions. I’ve had one recommendation for keeping them in and one for putting them out. Now I really don’t know what to do 😂

lol .. im in florida and when its warm i'll get them outside asap .. during the day i have a seperate wire pen i'll put chicks out in starting at one week .. then back to the brooder at night .. my situation is older hens in the coop though so theres more than just temp to worry about .. but theyre good to be done with the brooder by about 4 weeks if its not going below 65 or so at night .. long as theres good shelter from draft ..

Okay. Two to one! 😉. Attached is a picture of my coop. Does it look sufficient?
