breed splash to splash

I have some first generation splash to splash cochins. They are not washed out. I think the issue is when you continue breed offspring from these matings over time.

So if I sell there eggs, and they breed them back together they wont be washed out? Should I just add a few of blue or black?

I was wondering the same thing. How to preserve the splash color the best. I dont currently have any splashes but plan on investing into some in the future. I would think maybe breeding a splash with a white/blue/black every now & then would keep the colors going.

Blue only, not white or black.

When you see that the markings are beginning to fade then it is time to introduce a blue in to the breeding pens.

I breed BBS Silkies. I run all three colors together & have very "splashy" splash Silkies. I was taught that the best way to preserve the markings is to keep them together. This also is good for your blues markings. Are you concerned about producing too many blues?
