It has been raining a ton here too. Gotta put straw down in pens. This guy was feeling himself today. He's nearly 5 months old.

That's what I thought too.She may be wanting to nest there?

Wettest spring I have had here in a very long time and I decided to not use my incubators. But did have my 1st batch set hatch 18 out of the first 24 eggs set. Wasn't expecting this hatch to be that great as it was the 3 to sometimes 4 hens in mass nest in shed. Should get better now starting with next hatch date of Saturday and should be steady from then on. Sold all 18 to same person they were 1st on list for 12 but when he got here and seen them, he took the whole hatch of 18. Had to get the last 3 hatched out from under momma's never even made it to brooder. That's the way I like it all 24 hours old or less and no feed used. Hopefully I can fill my whole list that easily would be great. A little slow start though this spring without using plug in incubators but on my way now.Had a bit of rain almost 3 inches in a short time with hail . There should not be any water in sight

Able to get a few pics of some of the poults that hatched today. 15 out of the 24-set hatched so far, 8 sold a few hours ago. Last check about 3 hours ago 2 more hatched 3 starting to zip and a few pips. 8 sold 7 in brooder for 15 total hatched. Don't see a problem but need 3 more to hatch tonight as someone wanting to come tomorrow to pick up 10. All poults are looking great strong fat and active already.View attachment 3829045View attachment 3829046
Those are from my Blue Palms they could be Blue or lavender Palms they don't breed true. What are the ones with the markings? They look like my cornish palms and red phoenix. They are so cute!
Always love that already the big boyHad a black poult trying to strut and gobble at just a few days old the other day. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it myself. The little chirpy gobble was so cute!

I’ve been in the same boat before. Last year I had at least 3 or 4 black poults start strutting and trying to gobble before they even hit a week old, I believe. It was a big thing I’d been looking forward to this year given how silly it was, but even with poults almost a month old, I haven’t had any black poults try and gobble or strut yet. Probably normal, but slightly disappointing!Had a black poult trying to strut and gobble at just a few days old the other day. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it myself. The little chirpy gobble was so cute!
