The juvenile birds hate it. The grown birds prefer it. Kinda how I used to prefer cookies and still do but I have to eat broccoli instead now. Not the same thing? Oh ok got it. Here I go again talking to myself. And mine fight over corn

Our feed mix has it in it. Our birds are healthy and do quite well. The turkeys get more pellets in their mix than the chickens. The turkey we butchered was very plump and well nourished, with some nice yellow fat and nice plump breast fillets. Corn is not poison or anything. Unless you're on a low carb diet. LolAnd I don't feed corn to any of my poultry.
Never said corn was poison. It is a low protein, high fat food. The all flock that I feed does contain everything the birds need so there is no need to feed extras. Our feed mix has it in it. We like to keep the birds on a grain and pellet mix. They would be foraging for grain and seeds in the wild so it's a balanced natural food for them with the right pellet to grain ratio. That's how we have fed for years. You can up the protein by adding extra calf manna or pellets too for conditioning birds or during molt.Never said corn was poison. I buy a bag a year or walk across the road every other year and gleen my cousin's field after harvest. The juvenile birds hate it. The grown birds prefer it. As I said the all flock I feed has everything they need. There is no need for me to worry about upping the protein by buying even more things. There is no need for me to be concerned about whether the birds are getting too much "treats" either. We like to keep the birds on a grain and pellet mix. Lol all of my birds are so feed motivated they are no trouble to catch with feed.I buy a bag a year or walk across the road every other year and gleen my cousin's field after harvest.
I throw some in a pen to get them use to going in so they are easier to catch.
That Jenny is incredibly beautiful.Looking forward to poults from these birds. Hopefully the jennies start laying in a couple months. I'm praying the dapple looking tom is at least carrying cm so I can get some painted poults from them. Im still not 100% if he is dapple or some variety of tuxedo. The grizzled chocolate jenny is looking lovely also.

Don't mind the corn they've left on the ground. They pick the pellets and smaller grain out of the feed and leave the corn. The goats go in and eat the corn.
