I'm sure she's already been bred again so we're trying to figure out if we can move her to the new place with Mr Keeks and start fresh. The last 2 babies are buck wild now so probably not moving them.

I don't, but my next door neighbor does from eggs that I had hatched last year for that New Years day hatch a long. This girl duckling is a decendent of those.

Aaaaa! One pipped out the wrong side, and another pipped below the air cell, both are ones from favorite hens.
I made an air hole for the one, and the backwards one is making noise, the clicking they make as they are working on absorbing the yolk, and super raspy chirps? It should be ok, it'll just take longer because this was supposed to be its internal pip.

I had a few of mine hatch. Too cold here to see them out from under their mom's today. They are adorable little bantam chicks.

Day 19 still and have 3 babies!!!

I have about 75% of the eggs that made it to lockdown hatched already, and day 21 officially starts this evening! This must be an early bunch! A great surprise! (& might let me set my next batch a day earlier!)

The weather killed all mine so ive been out for weeks and I don't plan on hatching more ducks either

Sadly they didn't make it momma evidently abandoned them

Awww, I'm sorry and can completely empathize with you. Lost a whole litter last month to a first-time momma not caring for them.

Try to wait until the end of a hatch to make air holes. Making them too early will dry out the eggs leading to sticking.

My philosophy is to let them keep working until you see obvious signs of distress.
