I have been raising chickens for over a year now, and all of them have been hand-raised from chicks besides 2 hatches. My first hatch was not my own eggs, but went extremely well. The mom got broody again, and this time around I had a rooster so I used my own eggs. 2/4 eggs hatched without...
So it’s been a month since we were given an orphan chick to take care of, since we have another chicken who we thought would take him under his wing which she didn’t sadly..
Anyways, he’s a fearless little guy (or girl idk) he’s not scared of our dogs, of us, anything really. He’s so curious...

Got some chicks from my neighbor and one of them has a wired looking foot. It seems somewhat healthy otherwise. I just want to know if there’s something I can do to help it. It walks, eats and drinks normally. I tried my best to take a pic of it. If more pics are needed I’ll gladly take more.
Hi all, just received a panicked call regarding this poor red chick with a leg issue. Could be broken or a tendon problem, but this poor little guy is part of a school hatching project and needs a home ASAP. My flock is full, but I'm willing to get him/her and drive a but to ensure a good home...
Hello. I recently found one of my hens starting to act agressively toward a younger chick or runt(one day old) and start pecking it. I removed the chick from our coop and put him/her in a box. He/she seemed to have been bleeding and injured on the head. One of our guesses to why this was...
Hi all!
I am a new chick owner. We have six chicks. One of mine today started holding her leg up and limping on it. She also tends to lay it out to the side when she is laying down. I’m not positive how old she is. I’m guessing around a week or so old. It is either one of my golden comets or...
I need advise on what to do :(. My 2 week old Buff Orp chick has been pecked by a 2/3yr old hen (belongs to the neighbor). My chick was closed off with chicken wire but I guess she was too close to the edge and the hen took a shot at her. It looks pretty bad, not sure if it looks worse because...
I went to my farm Feed store today and I realize a baby chicken with a injured leg so I asked to see it and I didn’t think it was this bad
Any suggestions of what I should do
.
I take care of injured animals all the time and But not baby chicks so I’m kinda worried
Hello, about two or three weeks ago one of our buff orphington hens hatched a chick of her own kind and an adopted egg from our barred rock hen. Sadly two other chickens didn't make it out of their eggs, but such is life. The underwear chick was healthy but I found the barred chick crawling in...
Hi, I am so new to this, I do not even technical own chickens I am just caring for an injured one and her buddy. Roxie is a few weeks old ((I think)) and she/he ((too young to tell yet I am told)) was grabbed by my Dad's dog Cera ((Who was raised around chickens and protects them all very well...

We had to do a rescue this afternoon. We let our little Nankin Bantam broody and her four almost-two-week-old babies out in the main coop today. They've been in a large dog kennel for most of her setting and since hatch. The babies could go out into the main coop through the bars of the kennel...

Update: the chick died.
This morning when my husband went to let out the chickens, he found that one of our four-week-old Buff Orpington chicks had a bloody flayed back! The chicks had been closed up by themselves in a separate coop with their "mother," a Silkie cross, and are also within an...
I picked up 3 baby chicks from my local store on Saturday. I had them on reserve and was told by the clerk that one of them had started having problems with one of her legs that day. First, I was surprised how small she was. I think she is a bantam and was mixed in by mistake with full size. She...
Hello..
Today has been quite the trial-error day, but so far my chick Raptor seems to be stable. She's a gold laced wyandotte x rhode island red cross, and has so much spunk. She's my favorite, hand raised, but hatched under my hen March 30th. My coop has four layers of fencing, the innermost is...
My 5-day old polish chick is limping. I don't see any obvious injury to her left leg or foot. She can bend her toes around my finger but she appears to not want to put weight on her foot. She is eating and drinking. What should I do?
