    Corid for duckling?

My baby duckling (week old) has a respiratory infection. I’m doing everything possible to save my baby (nugget) and was told by two different people to give her corid. I have bought the corid for her but am hesitant to give it to her considering Google is having mixed reviews on whether or not...

Corid as preventative when moving to new coop?

I have four 8-week pullets I'm moving into a coop formerly occupied by a small flock of grown hens. I say formerly, because a fox* wiped them all out and these pullets are their replacements. I have no idea if my previous flock ever suffered from coccidiosis, but if they did, the bacteria would...

Corid: Is a maintenance dose necessary?

Back on August 6 I started giving our flock 1.5 tsp/gallon Corid. It's time to stop the full treatment dose, but is it recommended that I drop to a maintenance dose? Or is recommended that I give them a two week break and then retreat (like some parasites?) Thanks!

    coccidiosis?

I posted on here Friday about my sickly little sebright bantam hen. A few people recommended I start her on Corid for cocci. The only symptoms she was exhibiting at the time was lethargy, sitting around with her eyes closed. Her poop still looked normal and she had/still has an appetite. So, I...

Could my chicken have coccidias? Please help I’m hoping I can save her

My chicken is 2 years old. She’s on day 3 where she spends most of the time just sitting down. She’s not drinking water or eating her food, yesterday I got her to eat some pieces of corn and worms. I could feel her bones from under and notice the weight loss. Someone said my chicken could have...

This morning I found some very bloody droppings in my chicks pen. I went ahead and purchased medicated feed for everyone but my ducks just as a small step. I have a very mixed flock. I have about ten laying hens and two roosters, some bantams and some full heritage breeds. I also have twelve...

What is the dosage of amprolium for preventing coccidiosis?

A month ago I hatched some chicks and when I spoke to a vet recently, he said it wouldn’t be a bad idea to give them amprolium. The feed I use is unmediated. I’ve used powder Corid in their water in the past, but I can’t remember the dosage to use. If anyone could tell me how much of the powder...

    Corid Dosage

I bought the 9.6% oral solution of Corid amprolium. I’ve been reading that the dosage should be 10ml/gal but some of these posts are talking about 20% Corid. How much should I be sticking in a gallon? My birds are 3 weeks old. Behavior seems mostly ok so far but I did see bloody diarrhea...

    Chicks with coccidiosis, dosage, info?

Today I noticed one of my chicks was droopy, they were ruffled up with a downward tail. I'm guessing it has coccidiosis as someone told me that what their symptoms sound like. I was wondering what the exact dosage for corid liquid bottle preferably in teaspoons/tablespoons would be for 1.5...

    Dead Chicks, coccidia or not?

don't know what happened! I'm not sure if it was due to pasty butt issues, got too cold and got trampled, or we have coccidia again?! Went out to check on babies to see how they were doing with new brooder heater, lifted it and two of my chicks were dead! If I treat for coccidia and it's not it...

I saw all the dosages for Corid for mixing with water, what about a direct oral dosage?

I’m pretty sure my chicken has coccidiosis. She won’t drink, so I can’t mix amprolium in the water. Does anyone have a dosage to give Corid orally, so not mixed in any water? Thanks. My hen is 7 years old now, too.
