YES! It's still too early to tell...HA! But just humor me???
This buff's comb is quite clearly larger and pinker than the other 8 buff that I have! Although she/he seems to stand more like a pullet at times. Thoughts? :)
My biggest and seemingly healthiest Buff Orpington/Ameraucana mix, Biscuit Bird, has a problem. I brought her into the house yesterday for a daily visit with my parents, but my mom noticed that she was sneezing, and that her nose was runny. I had a look, and her nose did have some clear liquid...
I'm new to raising chickens (since september). My girls are just shy of 1 year old, and when I cleaned their coop today, I noticed there were more feathers than usual and my one buffs had a pale comb and face. I was wondering if anyone could confirm if this is molting. Her behaviors seem normal...
Hi everyone!
My name is Racheal and I’ve been lurking as a guest for quite a few months. I have 4 children 19, (almost)18, 8 & 7, 5 dogs, 1 cat and am currently a new mother hen to 8 Buff Orpington chicks who are “1-2 weeks old.” We live in a rural area of east central Missouri.
I love animals...
Just noticed one of my hens has a cracked beak. She's foraging, eating, laying like normal but it really doesn't look great. Would I be crazy to superglue the top part to give it some more stability? Does this indicate a nutritional problem or was it likely just an accident?
Less than a week ago I purchased 6 Buff Orpington chicks (Tractor Supply).
Three chicks are growing very well and are developing personalities, 2 are growing okay and one is failing to thrive. I put a little dot on her head so I could keep an eye on her, that earned her the name 'Dottie'...

Hello I'm looking for a Buff Orpington Hen to add to my flock. If you have any that you are selling please let me know how much and where you are located. Thanks so much!
Hello from Albemarle County. I will be in the market for 4 Buff Orpington pullets at the end of April. Don't mind traveling to pick them up. If anyone is aware of Buff Orpington breeders around the central Virginia area I would be very grateful for contact info. Best regards!
I currently have 5 chickens - 2 Black Orpingtons, I Rhode Island Red (the boss), and added last year 2 Buff Orpingtons (the Golden Girls). From the start the Golden Girls have ranged further than the rest of the flock and so drawn the others into a wider ranging habit than before but the other...
A roo slipped in with our September pullet order and needs to be re-homed, as our neighborhood doesn't allow them. He's a lovely, friendly fellow, 17(ish) weeks old, Marek's vaccinated, used to children, and showing no signs of aggression. I hate to have to cull him as we've grown really...
Hi i just got some chickens (2 Buff Orpingtons,1 silkie,1 australorp) and I just wanted some good advice on raising chickens that are all 8 weeks old and there name are (buff orpingtons are {Coco,Chilli} and the silkie is {Mojo} and the australorp is {Pearl} because she is a shiny pearl color)...
What's your experience with lavender Orpington breeders? Whose putting out show quality birds?
Please no big hatcheries.
I'd like to buy some eggs to incubate now, but having a hard time finding any available. I'll probably have to wait till spring. Any info would be great. Thanks.
I have a pullet that is half Buff Orpington and half Easter Egger. She looks like a BO, but with green legs. She has started laying, but the eggs are tiny blue eggs the size of bantam eggs. None of my other hens laid such small eggs when they first started so I'm wondering if there is something...
