Exactly! Had someone want to buy the whole lot and he wanted an exact count. I'm like not that one. . Or that one. This one can go.. . Gave him a count about 8 short. :hmm
Lockdown.
Pulled a few more quitters and added the dividers for 1 bator so I can keep track of chicks. The other they all look the same to me. :D That bator should produce random EE chicks. Mostly 2nd gens so I can't guarantee egg color.
These ones will be Lovelies!
1 week to go. Down a few eggs. 3 early quitters all from 1 hen, xl eggs. I think they were a touch too big for the turner and were getting stuck. 😕
And all my RIR eggs were clears. Not sure what's going on there, they are 3 this year but my roo is spoiled for choice with some younger gals. So...
I think I may be overrun by chicks come hatch day. Did a quick candle yesterday to check for cracks, didn't check when I set. Already had signs of life in almost all the eggs. Few to dark to see.
:frow:wee
Got a new job. And immediately head first into a major project. 8-10hr days 6 days a week. Bank acct is happy but I am just wee bit exhausted.
I would love to have a broody to add to the hatchalong this year but we still have far too much snow and ice to leave a little bitty sitting by herself. No broody hatches till late spring for me. Just me and my 2 incubators counting down the days!
:oops:I may have bought a 2nd bator this year. If I can swing the dates between work projects, count me in. But I will be hatching more this spring. Have buyers and projects lined up.
