I'll be pulling the final turkeys out the incubator later tonight. As I was gathering eggs this morning, I noticed I now have a broody chicken hen. So chick season is still not over yet. I'll be setting a very few eggs tomorrow in case the broody has bad results. A question for turkey...

1 turkey so far and a half dozen or so sumatras. My sumatras always hatch hours first. The turkey is a good sign of more chicks coming though.

so time got away from me and I did not get the eggs moved from the auto turning shelf to the lowest hatching drawer area. Now they are supposed to be in lockdown with no opening of the incubater door. I raised the humidity earlier in the day but I just turned off the auto turner. I can still...

I plan to candle one last time tomorrow morning. Then I'll put the eggs all on the lowest shelf by themselves. This way when its time to put them in the lockdown drawer, Im just moving the lowest shelf and not hunting out the eggs from all 3 shelves. Other news, I got 2 out of 4 turkey...

I would do what is best for the viable eggs. The shipped eggs sound iffy at best. That makes my recommendation to turn the eggs.

This one does not really bite as much as she likes to try and slap my DH with her wings. She let me put some food in the nest today without moving and only lightly hissing but when DH entered her "area" she jumped up and started flapping her wings so hard and hissing. She has slapped him...

I gave 4 turkey eggs to one of my broody turkeys. They have about a week to go. There is another turkey hen that shares the nest so as soon as those poults hatch I'll be grabbing the started turkey eggs with various hatch dates and putting them in my incubator. There is no way I'm reaching...

I did a bit of tossing here and there from a couple different sets of eggs I had going in the incubator. As of now it looks like I have 12 turkey eggs and 1 maybe on the mallards egg. It had looked good but now it is hard to tell if it is still moving. For the various chickens there are about...

I test candled 2 of the turkey eggs, both showed veining. I plan to candle again on the 22nd or 23rd so I can candle all of the chicken eggs at the same time. It will be a nice cool down period for the day. I don't always do the cooldowns but on days I candle It just happens automatically.

chicken eggs set. Now I'm hoping for lots of good fertility and a good lockdown. I set a dozen CCL eggs and I really want them to be fertile then hatch. I have had the worst hatch rate for them so far.

I'll join in. I plan to set turkey eggs and a few chicken eggs. If my mallards start laying in the next few days I'll set them with the Turkey eggs. Right now I have no hope for the mallards. They were found without a mother and I gave them a home but I'm thinking they just might not lay...
