OK, thank you I have done that today and kept my egg shells and ground them up for the flock. She is much better today and behaving normally, and layed a regular egg.

She has been in contact with them for 1 week but visable to them for 2 before that. They aren't really pecking her too much anymore, I think its her own fear not that they are over bearing to her.she seems like quite a timid bird compared to the other that joined the flock with her.

I do let mine free range in the garden, but the new hens are still getting used to me and I don't want them flying off, especially as we are very rural, the foxes and their young are hungry at this time of year. How long does the pecking order take to settle down?
