New Chicken owner

Hello

I have just got a small flock of 4 chickens. It is winter and they moved in just over a week ago but so far no eggs. I was wondering if that is normal and what I should be looking for if they become egg bound.

Looking forward to hearing about all the great chicken stories, inventive ways to keep them occupied, and seeing some puctures of your coops.

In that case, I'd just give them time to adjust to their new surroundings. They may or may not lay eggs until the days start getting longer in the spring.

It's normal for young pullets to not start laying eggs until the following Spring, and for laying hens to slow down egg production in the winter. Give them time to adjust, and maybe put a light in their coop on a timer if you want them to start laying sooner.
