Pros: easy installation/use all-aluminum construction sealed motor low maintenance
Cons: side-opening door not sutiable for all coops
This door is perfect for small coops with no room to install a vertically-opening door and/or no room for an interior installation. The door comes fully assembled, in a frame, and is super easy to install and use. We operate our in manual programming mode (extremely easy to set up) and power it with the optional solar panel kit. It won't shut on a chicken (e.g. pinch feet, feathers, etc.) and after it closes at it's designated close time, it will re-open in one minute and stay open for 10 seconds in case any flock stragglers were stuck outside.

Pros: excellent flock guadian, large/heavy frame, gentle with hens, good with people (adults), predominantly morning crower, gorgeous
Cons: aggressive towards/easily aggravated by children
For being a horomonal cockerel, our fellow has been an excellent flock addition who quickly took up his roll as flock protector. He's fearless when it comes to a threat to his flock, even when it's a dog that's easily 4X his size.

While he's large (and likely to get a bit bigger yet), he's gentle with his five hens, almost never chasing them or pinning them to get "his way". Unless aggravated, he crows approximately 12-24 per hour starting one hour before dawn and ending mid-morning.

He's aggressive towards children, which is why he was re-homed with us out of his original flock. He does not do well with loud, fast-moving object under 3.5-4 feet tall. Even when in the run, if he sees (and especially if he hears) the voices of children yelling/screaming while playing outdoors, he will strut, flap, and crow continuously until they stop.

Pros: healthy bird great selection low minimum order fast shipping
We placed our order several months ahead and all five chicks arrived when they were supposed to, in fantastic condition, and were all the breeds and genders that we wanted. We had no problems and all of our birds are still thriving and laying well!

Pros: good layer hardy beautiful bird/eggs intelligent friendly
Cons: slow to mature somewhat aloof
Beautiful bird and beautiful eggs; not as early to mature or as prolific and consistent a layer as some, but still good. Friendly, but prefers to be left to do their own thing. Always puzzling out how to get into something they shouldn't!

Pros: medium-sized bird reliable layer cold hardy friendly intelligent docile
Cons: small/medium eggs can be somewhat aggressive towards flockmates
Medium-sized bird that is a very reliable, all-season layer. Eggs tend to be small to medium-sized, but have yolks that rival large eggs.

Pros: excellent layer of large colorful eggs quiet friendly
Cons: tends to be skittish very territorial
Comes in a rainbow of plumage and lays an equally wide variety of colorful eggs that tend to be large. Reliable layer, but a shy/skittish bird from chickhood forward.

Pros: prolific early egg layer intelligent friendly cold hardy
Cons: skittish/shy chicks/pullets
An amazing layer who doesn't care what the weather might be. Tends to be shy when young, but calms significantly approaching POL. Very smart, wily bird that can and will get into everything (or puzzle out how to in short order).
