If you are wondering, "What should I name my new chicks?", you are in the right place.
Note: This article is NOT long AT ALL. But that is how it's meant to be.
Boy or girl?
If you have chicks you will probably not know if they are a boy or a girl until they are around 6 weeks old. Lot's of people pick a name....then if the chick turns out to be a boy and they picked a girl name, they change it to something similar, like: If you have a chick you thought was a girl and named "Dotsy", you can change it to "Dennis" or "Duke". But it all depends on what you want.
What breed?
Sometimes people want to name their chickens based on the breed. If you have a Speckled Sussex, you could name it "Speckles" or "Dottie", or something like that.
Temperament:
Chickens all have different personalities! They are each unique in their own way. If you have a hen that likes to peck at you and/or other things, you could name her "Miss Pecks" or "Pepper".
Anything you want:
Some people just like a certain name, and to them it just "fits" the chicken. I personally like the names "Twinkle" and "Ivory". Maybe next time I get chicks I will choose one of those names.
