Broody hen and spitting up liquid.

My very broody hen wakes up in the morning and spits up a little [mostly clear] liquid. Her crop is very full, but I assume this has to do with her being broody and her digestion being slowed down.

Is it normal for her to be spitting up liquid occasionally [maybe 1-2 times per day?] She otherwise acts healthy and fine/still has an appetite, I have been putting apple cider vinegar in her water since this started too.

Also, should I force her to get her crop down [withholding food?] I'm worried about it causing issues because she has it so full.

EDIT: I've decided to massage her crop a few times, I plan to isolate her tomorrow if it's not down a bit by then.

I would alternate the ACV with other probiotics like Greek yogurt or probiotic powders that can be their water for the day.

Here are two excellent articles about crop issues that should help.

I hope she gets better soon!

Thank you! I think her crop is just hanging low and not draining [pendulous crop]! I wrapped some fabric around her crop and I think it's starting to drain properly now since she's acting like she's full of food when wearing it (falling asleep instead of actively looking for food/brooding.)
