20 hens and a rooster. I mean they are not really ours, they are my brothers project, but been out of town for several months. We only have gotten ducks, ourselves, other than the few Cornish chickens my wife some reason decided we needed when she got the last 3 ducklings from a local store lol.
Yeah, I thought about that after I posted it. If all you guys are saying that, maybe it was actually mine that was the weird ones lol. Although when that storm came through we did from the looks have almost as much on the ground as your third video you linked. Yours were hilarious how they...
You guys have strange ducks ;). Our ducks when the snow came at first they was cautious, but once they checked it out they was ok with it. They did lay down in it a bit more it seemed than without snow, however they still was running around and even would go swimming in their pool if I was able...
Hope everyone is having a great morning! Working on getting the ducks their nest boxes, should have been done already. Still gotta get some more supplies to really build them some, so just temping up them some in the meantime. Hopefully will keep them from playing hockey with the eggs like...
Hope everyone is having a good Christmas Eve, and tomorrow has a great one also! Our ducks have decided today to come out for a little bit, to grab some food, maybe hang out under the truck again, but keep running back to their house, where they have managed to drill overnight apparently to...
Hope all are trying to stay warm as much as possible. Let our flock out this morning, they was confused when I opened the door and they seen the snow. But they came on out and started laying in it. Gave them their food, which they usually gobble up quick, but they just ate a bit. Already had...
We appreciate the condolences, it was pretty hard on my wife, I understand it is to be expected a little, but was sad. We noticed the 2 week old was having issues, separated it, and kept her company gave her extra comfort, electrolytes and probiotics, kinda threw everything we had at her trying...
Hello all, little update, last Sunday we lost two khaki Campbell ducklings, one was going to be 2 weeks, the other was going to be 3 weeks this last Monday. They was sent off for an autopsy, can’t remember the word they actually use. Had two of our 3 KC checked by the vet, she said they looked...
Thank you for this idea, didn’t even think about that as an option. They are gaining size quickly as ducklings do, so I just got to get them in the bigger area soon. If it was like it was this summer I really would just be fine probably putting them outside in the house without any heat even...
Yeah, the chick feeder we always just use when they are young to keep them from climbing into it, once they get big enough the top is removed, until we outright replace it with a bowl. They don’t seem to make too much a mess with the water with those bowls, it is more they want to rush over if...
Good evening/morning all! Some new pictures of the 15 ducklings, Bigger ones are 2 weeks on Monday, the smaller is 1 week Monday. There is one smaller khaki Campbell that isn’t as big as the big one, but is same age, kinda strange. She was just slightly bigger than the newest bunch 1 week...
Good luck, ours are usually good ducks. Sometimes they decide it is bed time and will head to bed before we get out there to tell them to goto bed. When we tell them to goto bed they are usually pretty good about going to the proper houses, but sometimes they do protest it and require some...
