YES! The City adopted a new law last year that allows 10 hen and no roosters. They also outlined details on how big the coop and run should be.
I installed a wireless internet camera into my coop. It works pretty well, but the software sucks! Does anyone have camera in their coops with software that works very well for them? I don't mind paying for great software. Post links if you have them! iPad appls too!
Thanks guys! We love it. Still no eggs yet, but any day now. I am thinking about running some rope lighting inside an out and set it to a timer. Maybe coming on about 3 am - that would give them 14-15 hours of light. Maybe then they will kick into laying.
I added another section to my little coop. It just slides into the other. I built a wire door to separate the two sections. I replaced the two "BOYS" for hen and these little girls are still much smaller than the others. I hope by looking at each other and not being able to peck at each other...
With everything I did, going farther than the plans called for, it cost about $250 or so. It was fun to build and I took my time. Some of the elements I changed to make it look more balanced and then really worked on the finishing details...like rounding off almost all edges.
I think I'm going...
