Whick chicken is the best brown egg layer and what age do they start to lay?

One other question to you I have is, do you want a layer or a dual purpose, difference being, a layer will give you more eggs, but for a shorter amount of time, duals lay less but for many more years.
Layers may give you 2 yrs. but duals can give at least 3 or 4 or more. They probably lay every other day where as a layer every day.

I'd say RIR are the "best" or at least the most popular. BO's are good, too...but I've had great success with my Light Brahmas. They started laying about 6 months of age.
