When do you start feeding chicks normal hen food?

My chicks are 6 days old now and this is only my 2nd time to get chicks. When do i start feeding my chicks hen food?

Are they egg layers? If so, keep them on chick mash until they start to lay eggs. Mine started laying at about 22 weeks.
