What made you happy today?

Oh, thank you! It’s fantasy that takes place after the apocalypse. What was your book like?

Murder mystery, specifically, a police procedural. Technology has changed enough that some aspects are now laughably out of date.

I've worked on two others; really need to make writing a priority again. This time of year, it's difficult.

I'm just happy that I was able to finish morning chores before the fire in the skies started up with all the run off coming down on us.

I finally got around to replacing the CPU cooler and fan on the computer that a friend sent to me. UPS knocked it around so much that they broke the CPU cooler and fan right off so I had to buy a replacement.

I have a computer to play on again!

I got to sit out on the front porch with my favorite pet hen in my lap singing sweet nothings to me as we both took in some fresh gentle breeze with temps in the mid 70's.

Putting 100+ lbs of homemade sausage into said freezer
Dinner and conversation with friends

Another morning I wake up to 37 degrees. (That's not why I'm happy.) And the cherry and blueberries are ok. (That's why I'm happy.)

2 more mornings. Then I can be happy about more seasonal temps.

The weather is perfect today for me and my chickens that are out playing in the grass and sandy places they dig in.

TBD. Son is sick, had to get him from school, work was rough, there was a train stuck on the tracks, for hours, blocking both major roads. I'm starting to not feel good, have a headache, it's raining and cold. Found out a middle schooler tried to kill himself at school and that's why the school was locked down last Friday. I'm full of complaints today

Just got a phone call from my son's social studies teacher. She said he is a pleasure to have in class, he always raises his hand, is respectful and attentive. She has flags from different countries all around her room and he impressed her a few months ago and named all those countries. He took a WWII book in the other day, all about tanks and showed it to her. She was glad to have him this school year. It was nice to hear. And I told her that he really enjoys her class and comes home and talks about what they've done that day. She was happy to hear that

Both of the roosters I had to put in my chicken clinic are doing quite well today after not looking like they could survive yesterday. They and my pet scissor beak pullet are keeping each other company without any squabbling.
