My nephew has quail and he butchered one brought the carcass to mine and cooked it. Myself and my dog had some but he mentioned after eating the bird that the quail was potentially ill. I need to know what the illness was and will myself and most importantly, my dog be okay?
He says the bird was falling over to its side and just laying there gasping. The bird was apparently walking funny on its hocks and then resting a few days prior. The liver, stomach and intestine looked odd he said. If it is ulcerative enteritis, is this likely to be passed to me or my dog through the cooked meat?
